Monday Monday...

Monday, April 30, 2007

Mom is probably the only one who will know what song I'm referencing in my subject line. But it is indeed Monday. I am currently waiting for an e-mail so I can go to campus. Thus, I have decided to regale you, my readership, with the events of the weekend.

Friday was a fun day. Dr. Rack was convinced that class was cancelled on Fridays before exams, so we didn't have class. Julie and I went to the gym and did our thing. We rock. I have arm muscles now, by the way. Woo-Hoo! After the gym, we came back to my place and laid in the grass across the street, chatting and calling Rachel. After our little nap in the sun, Julie went home and I took a shower. I then grabbed some Sonic (gosh it is bad to have Sonic this close to my place) and took it over to Julie's for dinner. We watched Gilmore Girls, then we came back here and went downstairs to Paul Berger's place to await time to leave for the percussion concert. Percussion thing was AWESOME. Some of us audience members were a bit trouble-making, but it was a way fun concert. After that, we got ice cream with Marsh and Kevin and Matt. Paul's band was playing at Pitchers, but we were all in ice cream comas, so we elected not to go hear them. Instead, Julie, Matt, and I went to Tara's house and played poker until very very late. I learned that I am not very good at the whole poker thing and should probably stay in school.

Saturday, I slept until about 8:30 (which is late for me), then I went across the street and studied for about 4 hours. I then went over to the guys' place to steal some chinese chews and ended up staying there for a while. I played tour guide for Paul and Paul's mom and Bill at the Bo-Gan. That was fun. Then I waited around for Julie to come over so we could watch movies all night. We went and got Rachel when she got back (okay, actually, we were really really lazy and we instead accidentally convinced Matt to drive us to Rachel's and back...). We got to my place where we ate jimmies and frosting and pasta with pesto sauce and m&ms. We were going for a sugar coma. We watched Monsters Inc, which is a very cute movie. We were paid a visit by Matthew and his laundry, we had an m&m fight, then we all went to bed.

Sunday I went to church at Crosspoint with Julie and Rachel cause it was their senior sunday. Then there was a barbecue at the Y-Beach afterward, at which we played frisbee and bocce and got very burned. We spun in our skirts and had all sorts of fun doing that. We looked goofy of course...My shoulders are all sorts of red. Yesterday afternoon I made chicken noodle soup for Paul cause Olivia was working at a dance recital thing, then we just kinda hung out for a while before I headed to bed.

I am going to head to campus. Tell you about it later if it all works out.

2 weeks and counting...

Two weeks and counting to the end of the school year, then another week until everybody graduates. Julie and Rachel will be graduating and I think I've come to grips with that fact. I finally finished their presents. I had put it off for so long cause I knew that if I finished, it was like me admitting that they were graduating and actually allowing them to leave. As Rach will be in Clemson next year, interning at Crosspoint, I will not be as pouty as I could have been. Julie has an interview in Greenville tomorrow, so lots of prayers are going up that she gets a job there and can stay in Clemson too.

Amy had prom this weekend. Looked fabulous. I must share a picture...
Isn't that an awesome dress?

I am on duty in the lab this morning. Of course this is the morning when everything goes slightly wrong. Everyone and their mother wants a DVD player at 11:00 and failed to call before today to reserve it, but the whole not being able to find the second DVD player is causing a bigger problem. I shall be glad to get out of here in 10 minutes and leave the lab in the capable hands of Diana, our exchange student from Spain.

This past week/weekend has been interesting. I have played more than my fair share of Super Smash Brothers (and gotten halfway decent at it. at least decent enough to kick paul berger's butt a few times). On Friday night, Julie and I saw Rachel and Michael off to formal, then went to Sonic to chill out. We went for a run, then I started feeling bad and went home to curl up for a little bit. Saturday, I got up and went and got in bed with Rachel. We stayed there talking until about 11:30, then we got cleaned up and went Bible shopping. I have a purse Bible now. We picked up Paul and went to Greenville to go to Artisphere, but we stopped by my house on the way there. Julie met us at my house and took Rachel with her, then Paul and I headed downtown. There was lots of art and really cool stuff. I touched something worth $12,000. That was absurd. It was some sculpture thing. I got some really fun earrings while I was there. I love the artsy earrings. I showed him the bridge and the park, then we ran into my parents before heading to Fuddruckers for dinner with Olivia and her mom and sister. We then...

Time out for me to complain about the awful French teacher who is so rude to me. She is so uncool.

Another time out for me to go to class.

And I continue typing three days later. It's Thursday now.

After dinner with Olivia and her mom and sister, Paul and I drove back to Clemson and played smash brothers until like the middle of the night. This is the point at which I will interject that I kicked his butt like 12 times or something like that.

Sunday was church and the potluck, then I came home and don't really remember what I did. Oh. I went to a play with Paul. It was about women in the Vietnam war and their experiences, both during and after the war. It was rather heart-wrenching. I teared up a few times. After that, we killed a bit of time until Olivia got there and it was time to make shrimp with cream dill sauce and rice. It was every bit as good as it sounds.

On Monday, as I wrote earlier, I had to deal with mean and grumpy teachers who don't know how to deal with things in an expedient manner. Monday night was CSF. Fun stuff.

Tuesday was class and work, then a meeting with the officers to plan events for the upcoming year. It's going to be busy if we do everything we plan on doing. Tuesday afternoon I studied for Rack's test, then I went down and pestered the boys of number 8. Hung out for a while, ate some lasagna, and watched Toy Story. Oh, and mad props on the back rubs.

Wednesday was boring. Had a test in Rack's class. Ick to that. Then lab presentations. I think we did well with our adopted group member. Then I went to Sams with Wes and Alex. After that, I went to the gym with Ju-bear. Came home and studied for a very long time. Fell asleep studying. Tried to wake back up. Gave up on that and went back to bed.

Today was a fairly useless day. We had our final in Brosnan's class. That was the last productive thing for a while. Dr. Brown gave us our final and sent us home. Then I got a chicken biscuit. Dr. Skaar told us the final would be take-home and sent us home. Shag, we did an evaluation then he sent us home. I went to Sonic with Julie, then we went to Target where I found some very very cute shoes for very cheap. Then I came back and went to the CME end of year cookout. Rain or shine we were having that cookout. Here, have some pictures.
Armen was SUPER-grilling!Such a sexy face. Not to mention how short I look in this photo.Look! People came to the shendig!

I came home, worked on my final for Dr. Brown for a while, then went downstairs. Watched the Office, went to Bloom with Olivia and Julie (there are too many julies in my life...), then went back and half helped with lemon squares until Baldo and I went to get Paul. I worked on my test some and we watched Casino Royale.

It is WAY past my bedtime. Good night world!

I'm armed and dangerous...

You may now strike off fear of guns from my list of fears in the entry I posted a while back. After Christmas, I think. Anyway...I learned to use a gun. I'll get to that in a while though. I have stories!
Rachey and I went to Charleston the weekend of the Cooper River Bridge Run. We played around in Battery Park the night before the race cause Rachel had never been to Charleston before.
I played on the cannons some... Rachel climbed her a few lightposts and trees... When we found her roommate, we went to this really yummy dessert place and were served by a very very creepy guy.
Next morning, we woke up at 5 so we could go to town before the race. It starts in Mount Pleasant and ends in downtown Charleston. I was so proud of Rachel and I running so much of it. Especially with our ankles the way they were at the time. We had to buy ankle braces on the way to Savannah cause we didn't want Julie to yell at us. We went to Savannah to stay with her bro-bro and see her and her grandparents, then we came back to Clemson on Sunday.
Last weekend must have been boring...oh yeah...Easter. It was freezing, so I didn't get to wear my dress. The kids in mom's class were so cute. I wish I had the pictures of them egg- hunting, cause it was the funniest thing ever. I shall have to get copies of them.
This past week/weekend was interesting. Armen got in a wreck and had his spleen rupture...I saw the staples in his stomach today. Kinda cool in that really freaky sort of way.
Friday was Relay for Life.
It was fun. I hung with the high fivers and Julie and played real mah-jong (so not sure if that's how you spell it). it's like rummy. I gave blood, Paul Berger came around, we played some soccer and some DDR, went home at around 4 and had popeyes.
Saturday morning I ran the RC & Moonpie downhill 1 miler. It was fun. Then I learned to shoot a gun. I've always been afraid of guns. Turns out I'm not half bad at the whole gun thing. My instructor was quite impressed by my skill.I came home and went to the CSF banquet before going to a party with Olivia to hear Paul Berger's band play. They were awesome. The party was not.
Sunday was church, then I went home to get some clothes and some stuff for a certain something that I'm not talking about. I came back and decided to make bubblins. Olivia joined me at the store and we cooked and had Baldo up for dinner.
Today I had class. It was a good morning. Then I heard about the shooting at Virginia Tech. I was watching the news and it made me cry. What a horrible thing. It's so sad that things like that have to happen in the world we live in. To make the day better, Rachel will be in Clemson next year, so she'll be close to me for a little while longer.
That's all folks!
