It's that time again...

Tuesday, January 30, 2007

It's that time again, when teachers feel they've taught you just enough to test you on something that they haven't taught yet. They get an itch to torture you and choose to do so in the same week as every other teacher does. I have a test Thursday, one Tuesday, one next Friday, and a speech on Monday. Speaking of speech...I HATE public speaking. Giving speeches gives me nightmares. In fact, we actually talked about fear of speaking in speech the other day. In honor of those fears discussed, I have decided to compile a list of things that frighten me. Mostly for your amusement... (in no particular order...just numbered for fun)

1) speaking, giving speeches, talking in front of groups (must be why I'm president of a club and also conduct tours for incoming engineering students)
2) those drains on the street, the ones that either have a metal grate over them or just kinda slope down under the sidewalk. I'm afraid of getting caught in one and dying.
3) having my skin ripped open. needles pulling at skin. have you ever SEEN the way skin pulls open when you watch surgery on tv?!?
4) drowning. yeah. not cool.
5) i've recently acquired a fear of bridges. it ties into my drowning fear, cause it's only bridges over water that scare me. when i'm driving, i have the sudden fear of what if i were to lose control and veer off into the water. i have a very vivid imagination, to say the least.
6) snakes. duh. always been scared of snakes. they're the residents of my nightmares as a child. they always chased mom and amy and i (dad was too smart to be in the snake dreams) and i always ended up standing (in my dream) on the bedpost until i woke up and went to sleep with mommy
7) spiders. do i really have to explain?
8) guns. guns scare me. do you realize how many stupid people are allowed to have guns? there should be an iq test to get a gun. you can't be too smart or too stupid. that would save us from some of the morons. same people shouldn't be given cars either.
9) i'm sure there's another one. heights kinda worry me. as do enclosed spaces.

there you go. a look into my twisted mind. i hope you have enjoyed this tour.

I have to run...time to eat lunch. yes, i know it's 3:20.
